(Might appear a bit jumpy, I need to organize it later. Just throwing our new ideas out there, please don't abuse them and turn our RP to complete supernatural. This is just a creative aspect to explain how things will be handled, and how the new clans have different beliefs. )
One who believes and welcomes StarClan may join them in the after life, many already know this. Over the past few generations, however, things have changed. We, the clans cats of the forest, know more now about the Clan of the Stars and The Dark Forest. Many spirits have brought to light how it works, what happens to spirits who are forgotten. Here, you will find a complete guide of what little we know.
The first thing to remember is if a cat is forgotten or finishes their work in StarClan, they will fade away and often they are given a new life, with only small flash backs of their memories. Some warriors go their whole lives without knowing that they are a reincarnate. Others catch on in early life. As soon as their kin or loved ones forget about them, the spirit fades away and leaves StarClan.
But other spirits are never, ever forgotten because of the great things they have done... These spirits are called "virtues." Because of them being remembered and seen as important, these spirits are often stronger and more physical for the belief and remembrance brings power. To become a virtue, one must have been a nobel, great hero that lives up to what they will be named and honored for. There are many virtues, too many to name, but there are a few main virtues that you should know.
Keep in mind that a virtue's name isn't ever announced- they are completely renamed in StarClan and go by what they stand for.
Allegiance, a pretty she cat who was a normal clan born she cat and deputy of ThunderClan. Around the time of the war, her leader immediately fell sick only an hour or so before the raid and she was left last moment to come up with a strategic battle plan. She helped all three clans win against ShadowClan, and was the one to fight and defeat Brackenstar, the leader of ShadowClan. Before she met his claws in battle, her words were heard to be "If I die at your claws, then at least I can hold my allegiance and loyalty!" The two cats then clashed, Brackenstar called all of his warriors to fight with all of their might. Blood shed, dirt flung and yowls could be heard until the sun rose once more.
ShadowClan's numbers began to dwindle despite their efforts, and Allegiance was able to finish Brackenstar by slamming his head on a sharp rock, killing him instantly from impact.
Despite winning, Allegiance had also received many wounds in the battle against Brackenstar, and her throat bled at a rapid rate. She dropped dead a moment after being cheered for because of her efforts, her last words were reported to be "Even in StarClan, my loyalty will always be to ThunderClan." She then slowly passed on. The remaining ShadowClan cats retreated.
Allegiance didn't completely end the war- no, she didn't do it on her own. There were many factors to it. Allegiance only lead the final raid that resulted in the falling of ShadowClan, but because of her words and how she died with allegiance, with defending her clan at all costs just as she had sworn to do the day of her warrior ceremony, it was one of the first and most remembered acts of loyalty in all of the clans. This is why the she cat is looked up to as Allegiance, a virtue of StarClan.
Example: "So quick on your feet.. Dexterity must like you!"
Spirit of swiftness and agility. This virtue is often looked up to by those light on their feet, quick and agile, like BoulderClan. For generations this cat has been the one looked up to by WindClan and BoulderClan alike.
Dexterity is a grey cat with pale eyes, who, when ShadowClan first began to stray from the ways of the Warrior Code and shed blood among the forest grounds, walked many, many miles in hopes of delivering the message to the three other clans of the plan that they held to take down ShadowClan. Dexterity ran, agile as ever as he dodged many obstacles and over came them with ease.
Dexterity was made a virtue when on his journey he was ambushed by a band of rogues belonging to none other then the relentless ShadowClan. He was attacked and killed trying to run and deliver the messages, and it was he who spread the word, and he who began the war by passing on a plan to each of the three other clans.
He managed to get out of the fight with what little energy he had and ran to WindClan camp, who had not received the plan yet. Upon arriving he was exasperated and bleeding from various areas. He died trying to deliver the final message to WindClan, and his last words were "Dexterity is my only strength... at least my fast feet were of use on this end.. good bye, and good luck." He then died from fatigue and blood loss.
Regardless of the fact there is a bit less to tell of Grace, it does not make her any less important. A sister to Dexterity, Grace was a gentle medicine cat who, with no battle experience, worked as a field medic who defended the weak by using her main skill aside from healing; cleverness. The smart she cat was able to set up very quick traps along the battlefield that caused her opponent to tumble over, letting the other, more experienced warriors take them down for her. She saved many lives that day, but was unfortunately killed when the battle began to die down when the deputy of ShadowClan had forced her underwater and drowned her. Her last thought as she looked up at her killer was simply "I forgive you strong deputy... be strong, RiverClan."
A gorgeous, eloquent and clever she cat, Grace is looked up to by HollowClan.
These are spirits that can be good and maintain balance, but their time alive was spent bringing misfortune, or suffering. They often reside with the Dark Forest but are not seen as bad things because they do not urge one to darker desires, but instead create desires and whether that cat follows them or not is their fault.
In short, these spirits of virtue can create a balance but can also create havoc if the warriors of the forest fall to them.
Not much is spoken of the Dark Forest Virtues, because some believe that hearing, speaking or even knowing too much of them can summon the bad things they bring.
Example: "With the way you're acting, Wrath must be lurking around here!"
A half brother to allegiance, Wraith was the leader of ShadowClan in the great Wars many generations ago. Wraith is a grey tom with firey eyes and many scars, with a large build and great muscles.
Wrath got his virtue name because of his anger and mischief during the time he was alive. He took the rank of ShadowClan leader by killing the leader and blaming it on the clan's deputy.
Like any understood misfit, Wrath was of course (because the staff of Viridity are very original) bullied and looked down upon as a younger kit. He despised every moment of it, and really had no friends. Many believe that if the other apprentices had shown Wrath a bit of kindness all those generations ago, he could have been saved and the war stopped.
But they didn't. An anger burned within him as he was named warrior, an anger so strong it hurt his chest and gave him head aches each day. He was so tired of being looked down upon, and when word had gotten to him that his half sister, Allegiance, who never bothered to visit him, had gotten her deputy rank... he simply snapped. That was it for poor, young Wrath.
He killed many to obtain his rank, until all that were left were rogues and others that were like him or understood his ways.
They say that when he died, it was almost like a fire burned around the area, as if time stopped and the forest ignited. They say that his anger was so strong yet so suppressed that it had caused him to be one of the very first Virtues to ever form... a fired soul and seeking vengeance, Wrath took control of the Dark Forest when he realized he was unlike other spirits, with strength, power and anger like a raging fire.
Example: "The word in the forest is that War is hiding in the trees, waiting to come out..."
War, a white cat with chestnut eyes... A tuft of fur on his chest is crimson, dyed from blood... he's a gentle looking tom for having such dark ambitions.
War would have been the leader of the Dark Forest, but he escaped death and retreated from the battlefield, living to see another 3 moons. He hadn't the same power or rage as Wraith, whom he considered a dear friend when Wraith named him ShadowClan deputy... And he still does to this day in the afterlife.
War got his name because of his ambition. He had advised Wraith to take the darker route to get power, and was a huge cause of the great war. Before he had met up with ShadowClan, he would leave RiverClan scented prey on ThunderClan borders, or WindClan scented prey on RIverClan borders... and so on. He caused fights, and even war, simply because it was fun to watch.
Example: "No prey out today, and we're running low on cat mint.. Greed, when will you leave us be?!"
A blue grey tom with big, sharp ears, eloquent emerald eyes and a limp he received from another rogue.
Also known as tyranny, infidelity and dishonor. Greed is usually the one blamed for those disloyal, those breaking the warrior code or dishonoring their clan or loved ones. He's also sometimes blamed when there is a lack of prey or herbs, many believing that "He's so greedy he needs them even in the afterlife!"
Born to RiverClan as an only kit, he was one of the first to realize he could gain what he wanted by doing harm, manipulating and bringing dishonor. He killed two deputies in an attempt to gain the position of a deputy, and by the third time he finally lashed out in front of the entire clan, announcing how he needed and deserved the rank. Greed later left, or rather, was exiled to rogue life and gained power over other rogues, forcing them to hunt and do as he pleased. Over time, however, they got sick of his foolishness and tyrannic ways and ended up poisoning one of the hares he had demanded to have with adder venom and death berry juice. No one bothered to heal him, and he died after cursing and demanding them to save him.
Feel free to come up with some other virtues to add. PM Crow if you have ideas.
